While it's not related to Dolphin directly, Apple released the new M1 Max and we got our hands on one to see how it stacks up against the M1 with some rather interesting performance numbers at the end of the report. If that wasn't enough, Dolphin also welcomed support for a wealth of mods through support for Riivolution. The fact that the PlayStation 2's floating point behaviors mattered to us for this Progress Report should tell you the kinds of things we were up against when writing up the changes. This Progress Report also contains collaboration with the PCSX2 development team as they helped us understand some of the behaviors of Floating Point Math on the PlayStation 2. Trying to even begin to rectify the problems with this approach and explain the reasoning behind why it sort of wasn't emulated go very, very deep. Dolphin's approach to emulating this bit of the hardware has been to effectively ignore it exists. The first rabbit hole showcases TMEM, the GameCube and Wii's texture cache. That line doesn't exactly work when it's midway through the month, huh? This Progress Report ended up being a very technically challenging report to write with several huge rabbit holes that go through the history of Dolphin and the games themselves.

I don't like the fact one would have to rely on an iso for Mario Kart Arcade GP which actually runs on a rom NAND cart.It's the beginning of the month and time for another Dolphin Progress Report!. What really needs to be done is to emulate more proper rom loading especially based on Triforce Type 1 and Type 3 (more so based off of MAME rom sets). I could go on for hours but I think I said a bit too much. Used in F-Zero AX, Club Kart, Initial D 1-3 and Outrun 2 (Special Tours). Namco Drive board used in a lot of their racing games since Namco System 23.

So far, Nintendon't is the best option for Triforce based support as of now and is a direct improvement. The problem was the overuse of hacks just to load Triforce based games thus some additional key hardware was unemulated. Imo, Dolphin Triforce isn't the best option to play Triforce games on unless someone hugely reduxes that build (and/or eventually adds it on the main build successfully like how Demul was coded for Dreamcast, Naomi, Hikaru, Atomiswave and System SP). There was an attempt to add Triforce in the main build but that proved more harm than good. It's difficult to implement in the current build of Dolphin as it wasn't really meant for a multi system GC based emulator unlike Demul.
